A famous leftist South Korean actor admits to having a criminal record.

Cho has been known to express his opinions through political statements. On December 21st of last year, he garnered attention by appearing in a video at a rally calling for the impeachment of former President Yoon Seok-yeol and criticizing the December 3 martial law. He also stated on a broadcast hosted by Kim Eo-jun that former President Yoon "must pay the price he deserves."

However, on December 5th, entertainment media outlet Dispatch reported, citing a source, that Cho had stolen a car and driven without a license while attending high school, and that he had been brought to trial on charges of robbery and rape.

The source stated that Cho and a group of bullies had been hanging out together, and that they had attempted to sexually assault him using a stolen car. Cho and others were sent to a juvenile detention center for this incident, spending half of their third year there.

The source also stated that Cho's father's name, and that this history led to suspicions that he had been using his father's name for entertainment activities.

제보자는 조X웅과 함께 어울리던 일진 패거리가 있었으며 이들이 훔친 차량에서 성폭행을 시도했고, 조X웅 등은 이 사건으로 소년원으로 송치돼 3학년의 반을 교정기관에서 보냈다고 전했다.

또한 조X웅이라는 이름은 조X웅 아버지의 이름으로, 이러한 이력 때문에 아버지의 이름으로 연예계 활동을 해온 것으로 의심된다고 밝혔다.
